As: the result of about 24 hours' actual pumping since the fire occurred at the petroleum warks. about 1200 gallons of oil have been obtained. There is a. little brine in the well but the manager regards this as an excellent sign. There is also a little silt, which is to be oxpected. When the pump is worked there is a splendid oil yield, and it is increasing. . ..The manager declares that the prospects are good.
