NELSON HOCKEY CLUB.
ANNUVL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Nelson Hockey Club was held at Mercer's Rooms on March 19. The President, Mr H.|JR. Duacan, presided. . and there was a good attendance of members. The hon. secretary and treasurer. Mr P. C. Hurst, read the report and balance-sheet. The Chairman congratulated the cJub on the report and the balance sheet, and, on bis motion, seconded by Mr G. Hoby, both were adopted. The following new members were elected :— -Messrs H. Lewis, Harman, Burford, Bird, Clarke, Nichols, Smythe, Bell, Cooper, Wells, Packer. A. Hurst and Hart. The report congratulated members on tbe successful season, the club being runner-up for the Duncan Shieid. Seven matches were played, four of which were won. two were lost, and one drawn. Eighteen i goals were scored and 12 were obtained against the club. The loss of several members — - Messrs Hair, Houston, Gilbert and E. Spear | was referred to with regret. Five of the members were picked to represent "Nelson and tour tbe Norh Islaud. The thanks of tbe club were tendered to Messrs S. Kirkpatrick, Devenish, Clifford. P. B. Adams ■and C. Levien. for donations and ' /ropbies. Mention was made of tbe d-rviced to hockey of the President, and the report concluded by noting the good feeling existing among members, and that the coming season would be one of great benefit to all.
The balance sheet showed the club to be in a sound financial condition.

lt was decided to open the season on the 2Sth inst.
Tuesday- and Thursday were appointed practice nights.
lt was resolved to form a Harriers' Club, and a syllabus of runs is to be arranged.
A discussion ensued as to the possibility, of providing a club room, and the matter was left in the hands nf the committee to report on.
It was resolved that it be a recommendation to the Association to endeavor -> arrange a representative tour oi use xN'orth Island.
It was decided that the Association be asked to provide both a senior and junior competition.
The question of obtaining a ground for the use of members was referred to the oommittee for report.
A supporter of tbe club promised to donate a trophy for the most improved junior player during the coming season, the award to be made by the Selection Committee.
