Sydney, July 19. f The City Coroner states that of 600 deaths reported last year, a very large proportion was due directly or indirectly to excess in the use! of alcoholic liquor. A special meeting of the Coal Lumpete' Union will be lield to-day to discuss the employer' latest proposal, and it is believed that there is good raeoo for hoping that an amicable settlement of the trouble will ensue.
