ANNUAL SPORTS. The sports at Wakefield yesterday attracted a large atteridatice of spectators, £68 being taken at the gates. CYCLING EVENTS: One Mile, Maiden, Amateur: H M Gibbs, 35 yards, 1 : F W Keri\ 40 yards, 2: S R Jocobsen, ser, 3. Six started. Close finish. Time 2min 41 3-ssocs One Mile, Cash, Ist heat: C Jacobsen, scr, 1 ; E Hagen, 30 yards, 2 ; A Baigent, 30 yards, 3. Baigent, when leading into the straight fell, but qualified by finishing. Time 2 mm 46secs. Second heat: F Eic'ketts, 80 yards, 1; B A Baigent, 50 yards, 2 ; F Roughton, 50 yards, 3. D Wallace, eighty yards, also started. * Time 2min 37secs. Final : F Rieketts 80 yards, 1 ; A Baigent, 30 yards, 2; B Baigent, HO yards, 3. At the lap the field was bunched together. A Baigent led on entering the straight, but was challenged by F Ricketts, who won after a great race by a length. Time 2min 34 l-53ecs One Mile, Amateur: O Roughton, 65yards, 1; P Rieketts, 95 yards, 2; A Brown, 95 yards. 3. Six started. Won by a wheel. Time 2min 32 3-5 sdcs Two Mile Amateur: ORoughton, 135 yards, 1; P Ricketts, 165 yards, 2; A R Jacobsen, 135 yards, 3. Six competed. Just before reaching the winning post, Ricketts and Jacobsen fell, bnt were placed second and third respectively. The field was soon bunched together and a fine finish ended in favor of Ricketts by two lengths. Five competed. Time smin 24secs Five Mile Amateur: O Roughton, 230 yards, 1 ; H M Gibbs, 395 yards, 2 : A R Jacobsen, 55 yards, 3. The race devolved into a struggle for lap prizes between Rougbton and Gibbs, the latter winning ten and Roughton five. The other starters dropped out, Jacobsen securing third place nearly a lap behind. Time 14min 13 2-ssecs Three Mile Cash: F Ricketts, 140 yards, 1 : F Roughton, 120 yards, 2 ; B A Baigent, 140 yards, 3. Sixstarted. All dropped out bar the placed men, between whom a fine race ensued, the lap prizes offering a strong inducement to sprint at each ronnd. Nine started, and the rase ended in a fine finish between the limit men, Thomas beating Tidd by half a yard. Only four finished.
