Fell, on behalf of the members of the Bar, expressed a i deep sense of tho calamity that had fallen upon the Colony by the death of the greatest man it had ever i known. He could say no more than that. The members of the Bar concurred with the decision to adjourn. All present remained standing throughout the proceedings. On the Committee resuming at two [o'clock, Mr H, A more said he desired to move a resolution. He then moved: — "That this Committee desires to express its deep sense of sorrow at the death of the Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, and to place on record its high appreciation of the eminent services rendered by him to the Colony and th« Empire; and, further, to express its deepest sympathy with tbe relatives of the deceased Statesman. " The mover said there was no need for him to make further comment. Mr Seddon' s name was in every household, and his services to this Colony and the Empire were well known. Mr. W. Coleman seconded tha motion, which wag agreed to. Mr Maginnity suggested that the resolution, besides being recorded on the niinutes, should be sent to the Acting Premier to be handed to Mrs Seddon. The Chairman said that course would be adopted.
