HIDE AND SKIN REPORT.

MessTs Dalgety & Co., Limited, report to their Nelson agents, Bisley Bros, and Co., under date Wellington, February 2nd :— We report having held our usual fort nightly sale of wool, skins and hide 3 to-day. Wool : Catalogue comprised principally bag lots only. We quote as follows:— Crossbred fleeces, 7f d to 9d ; lambs. B£d ; pieces and crutchings, 4Jd to ssd ; dead wool, s&d to 7-fd ; locks. 3id to 4^d. Sheep Skins; Prices were firm at last sale rates. We . quota :— Half bred and half bred Merinos up to 9fd ; good crossbred, BJd to 9d ; lambs, B^d to gd; dead, 7d to 7Jd ; pelts, from 2s Gd to 3s 7d ; broken and damaged pelts, Is to Is lOd; inferior and broken skins, Gd to 7|d ; stragglers, s*d to 7^d. Hides : Prices were a shade higher than last sale rates. We quote as follows : — Medium ox, ssd. to 6d; inferior ox, 3d io ssd ; cut and slippy ox, s|d to sijd ; medium cows, s*J}d to GJd ; inferior cows, s^d to ogd; cut and slippy cows. 4Jd to s*|d ; calf skins, no good line offering ; medium, 6£d to 7^d; inferior, s?d to 6|d ; calf skins, slippy, 5d -to 5Jd, Tallow (in casks) from 18s to 21s 3d.
