DOVEDALE.
(From Our Own Correspondent. ) The "Church of the Keeurrection" was very prettily decorated last Wednesday, on the occasion of the marriage of Miss M. E. (Lizzie) Loveridge, eldest daughter of Mr John Loveridge, of Nelson, and Mr John Kuss, third son of the late Mr Jacob Russ, of Dovedale. The bride looked well in a pretty stone blue dress and white hat. The bridesmaids were Miss Kate Loveridge (sister of the bride) and Miss Sarah Burnett (half sister of ttie bridegroom). They both wore strawberry colored dresses and large biscuit colored hats. Mr Will Burnett was best man. The Rev. Mr Hewlett officiated, and as the bridal party left the chnrch the organist, Miss Mave Coleman, played the * Wedding March. Afternoon tea was ] served to a large number of guests |at the residence of the bride's bro- ; thers. A dance was given at the I hall in the evening, at which the ' newly married couple were present, ' a dowunpour of rain preventing ! their intended drive that night : to •Nelson, where their future home is i situated. j As a party of the guests were pro- ; ceeding to the hall in the evening, j the horse they were driving suddenly i bolted, causing Miss Emily Davies to be thrown out of the trap on $6 the road. The hcrse was pqlled up ! without further mishap, aud Miss I Davies is to be congratulated on having escaped with only a shaking and some bruises, when her injuries might have been so much more serious.
