FATAL COLLIERY EXLPOSION, VIRGINIA.
14 RECKLESS RESCUERS KILLED. Received March 21, 11 p.m. New York, March 21. An explosion at Redash Colliery, Thurmond, West Virginia, killed ten miners, and a second explosion killed fourteen would-be rescuers. Six of those who set out returned, complaining of the recklessness of the fourteen killed in carrying naked lights at a faster rate than fresh air was being supplied.
