Paving the Streets with Gold. — Mr James Gribble, junior, is the 3 possessor of some half-dozen pieces of quartz, richly studded with gold, 1 which he obtained from the metal newly laid on Hampden street by the City Council contractor. Mr Gribble is a practical miner, who has worked for years reef mining, and his ' children, in consequence of his talks with them, knew something of gold being fofind in quartz. The other day a little fellow of five saw a piece of quartz amongst the metal, and, ' examining it, informed an older lad that there was gold in it.
