DEATH FROM SHOCK AND BURNS.
Auckland. January 4. , Mr John Evans, a settler, whose dwelling was destroyed by fire on New Year's Day, died at Raglan from shock caused by burns received I while endeavoring to save some of ? his goods. At the inquest the evi--1 dence of Dr. Sanders showed that 8 more than one-third of the skin on the surface of, his body was burned, Mr Evans having nothing on but a flannel shirt at the time. A verdict to the effect that death resulted from '* shock caused by burns, no blame '" being attributable to anybody, was Z returned. a
