Auckland, January 18.
The American yacht Norna, on a crnise round the world, has a/rived here from Samoa for an overhaul. The vessel is one of 250 tons, and has a record of 15 knot 3 for 13 consecutive hours. She has travelled 41,490 miles on the yresent cruise, and left Apia on the 28th December, but a hurricane was met with, which caused her to heaveto.
Wellington, January 18. The Agricultural Department has issued a circular regarding the outbreak of swine fever, urging owners to immediately report any illness among herds, and pointing out the penalty for neglect to do so. Palmebston Nobth, January 18.
The Rev Mr Chisholm, formerly of Milton, was inducted into charge of the Main-street Presbyterian Church here to-day.
