Silverstream Murder Case.
_ Wellington, February 15, lne Bilverßtream murder case was begun this morning, at the Supreme Court, before Mr Justice Edwards, Frank Philpott, alias Stanhope, being charged that on September 7th, 1897, he did murder Ernest Alfred Hawthorne, Mr Sell, with Mr ftfjers,
ftppeavs for the Crown, and Mr Jellicoe, With Mr Hindmarsh, tor the accused Twelve jurymen were challenged on behalf of the p isoner, while the Crown asked four to staml aside. So far nothing fresh has been adduced, and the trial will occupy the remainder of the week.
