EDUCATION BOARD.

ELECTION OF THREE MEMBERS. Nominations were'opened on Feb. 2nd, for the vacancies caused by the retirement, by rotation, of Messrs Talbot, Beuke, and Colvin. Mr Colvin did not seek re-election, and Mr Thos. Bailie, of Westport, was chosen to contest the vacancy in his stead. How ever, there being only three nominations, the two old members and Mr Bailie were declared elected. The following are the details of the nominations, Mr Bailie, no doubt, losing the support of some Committees through being so late in the field. Each Committee can nominate two persons only : — G. Talbot (Richmond), 33 — Waimea West, Ngatimoti, Appleby, Richmond, Lower Wekefield, rariwhakaho, Motupipi, Pakawau, Upper Motupiko, Fern Flat, Lyell, Addison's Flat, Lower Takaka, Lower Moutere, Upper Wakefield, Suburban North, Charleston, Black's Point, Little Grey, Capleston, Waimangaroa, Upper Moutere, Neudorf, Westport, East Takaka, Churchill, Motueka, Spring Grove, Nelson, Brightwater, Hope, Foxhill, and Pangatotara. J. D. Beuke (Upper Moutere), 30 — Waimea West, Ngatinioti, Appleby, Lower Wakefield, Pariwhakabo, - Motupipi, Pakawau, Cronadun, Upper Motupiko, Lower Takaka, Lower Moutere, Upper Wakefield, Suburban North, Charleston, Black's Point, Little Grey, Capleston, Upper Moutere, Waimangaroa, Neudorf, Cape Foulwind, Churchill, Motueka, East Takaka, Spring Grove, Nelson, Brightwater, Hope, Foxhill, and Pangatotara.
