FLOODS IN AUSTRALIA.
bydney, Jbeoruary is. A severe gale has been blowing but it and the rain have abated. Toward morning several vessels dragged their anchors in the harbour but no casualties are reported. There is a rough sea on the coast, and shipping are sheltering. The coastal and intercolonial telegraphic services are much disorganised. Splendid rains have fallen over the greater part of the colony. Melbourne, February 14. Almost tha whole colony is sharing in general rains. . A waterspout in the Bright district caused a flood, which did considerable damage to roads and mining properties. Brisbane, February 14. The rain continues, and the drought is completely broken up.
