N.S.W. FRUITGROWERS.
Sydney, September 26. A representative deputation of fruitgrowers waited on the Premier. The spokesman said i the ground of objection was that the duty ; which New Zealand already imposed was extraordinarily high, and curtailed shipments to that Colony. The deputation considered the present action of New Zealand unfriendly and unneighborly. If they oould see that New Zealand would obtain any advantage, it wduld be different, but the proposed new duty would have the effect of prohibiting the exportation of fruit to that Colony. The Premier, in reply, said the deputation had put a strong case, and that he could not understand how^New, Zealand, in. her own interests, could do suoh a thing. He would telegraph to the Premier, and he was sure that from the friendly relations which existed the representations would have great weight.
