ALBION FOOTBALL OLUB.

The annual meeting of tbis Club was held in the Coaoh and Horses Hotel on April 10, when there was a large attenanoe of members and intending members. Mr W. W. Chisholm (President) occupied the ohair, Messrs D. Andrews and E. Trask, Vice-Presidents, also being present. Tbe hon. Seoretary, Mr W. A. Dee, presented the report ot the committee upon the last season, and this was unanimously approved and adopted on tbe motion of Messrs E. Traßk and 0. Bird.

The report showed that tbe olob, despite tbe faot that at the commencement of the season things did not look at all hopeful, bad had a very successful season, the failure of the senior team to d&rry off the cap being ascribed as a good deal doe to bad lack, while the junior fifteen had oarried off the cup handsomely. An analysis of the games played showed that the seniors had payed five matches, won two, lost two, and drawn one, scoring 26 points against 24. The junior team had played in seven matches, loet none, drawn two, won five, paints scored for 44, and against three, tbe only score made against them being ft penalty goal, tbeir line never being crossed. In representative matohes nine Benior men bad been ohosen and seven of the janior team bad been similarly honored. Mention was also made of the kindneßS of Mr D. Andrews (VicePrerident) in giving the dinner he had pronged to the senior men if they won the oup tbey had entered for, and to the juniors wben they won the junior cup. Mr W. A. Dee read the balance sheet, showing a small balanoe in hand. On the motion of Messrs B. Trask and A. O derebow, the balanoe sheet was adopted.

Nominations for officers wore then oalled lor, witb tbe foUowing result :— President,

Mr W. W. Cbisbolm (re-elected); VioePtesidents, Messrs E. T.aak, D. Andrews and R. Allan fall re-eleoted) ; Boi. Captain, Mr A. Oldershaw (re-eieeted); Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr W. A. Dee (ree'eced).

The Presidents, Messrs Trask and Andrews (Vice-Presidents), aid tbe Hon. Captain returned thanks for their re-election.

The President referred to the lo's that the Secretary (Mr W. A. Dee) and captain of the junior team (Mr A. Dee) had sustained by tbe death of tbeir mother, and it was resolved to eend a letter of oondelenoe lo those gentlemen.

Af :er some dinensßton, it was resolved tbat the eleotion of field oaptains should be made by the teams themselves before tbe first meetiog.

The following were eleoted as a Match aod Management Committee -Messrs J. 0. McArtney, Oldershaw, Bueob, Whiting and Hemingway. Tbe following were eleoted Delegates to the Rugby Union— Messrs MoArtney, Trask, Busoh and Oldershaw.

A vote of thanks was passed to the ladles who had provided refreshments for the Olub eooial.

It was resolved tbat the Olub should enter teams for tbe first, second, and third-class championships. The subscription for third class players, those under 17, was fixed at Is.

Some discussion took plaoe upon the advisability of sending a team on tour during the s9Bßon, and it wbb resolved that the Seoretary should write to some of the West Coast of the North Island oluba to ascertain what inducements would be offered to a visiting team.

Mr E. Track proposed tbat a letter of sympathy Bbould bs sent on behalf of the Club to Mt B. W. Stiles, mention beiog made ot the prominent services rendered to football by that gentleman. The Hon. Captain said that he bad done this, and pleasnre was expressed that this had been done.

The President then, oalling upon Mr D. Andrews, presented bim with an enlarged photo, of himsel?, handsemely framed, and bearing a silver plate with the inscription — "Presented to Mr Digby Andrews by the tbe Albion Football Club."

The Chairman, in making the presentation, spoke in bigh t<rms of the rateable assistance given jto the Club by Mr Andrews, helping them in tbeir tours, their socials, and crowning bis kindness by a dinner. Altogether, members keenly felt the many kind acts of Mr Andrews, and their present was an expression of their good feeling towards him, which, present it was hoped, he would plaoe in a prominent position, and hand down to his ohildren.

Mr Andrews was greeted with hearty applause, and he, in responding, stated how muoh he would prize the handsome present, whioh would always serve to remind bim of the pleasant time he had spent with Club members. In ths future, bb in the past, he would do all tbat he could to advance football and the Albion Club in particular. He aa* sured members that he would always treasure the present he had just reoeived. Mr Andrews then asked those present to join him in a glass of wine, and the health of Mr Andrews was then drank with musioal honors.

The following presentations were then made by tbe Chairman : — Beat Senior back player, Cruet presented by Mr Andrews : Mr C. dnow.

Best Senior forward, pipe presented by Mr Chisholm (President): Mr H. Wbiting. Bett Junior back player, Bet of pipes presented by Mr J. Rothwell : Mr G. McDonald.

Beßt Junior forward player, pipe presented by Mr 0. Bird: Mr J. Nesbitt. The past Captain of the Senior team, Mr C. Bird, was made a life member of the Club, and complimentary references made to the valuable servioes rendered the Club on the field by Mr Bird.

The motion was carried with cheers. Votes of thanks were passed to the donors of the trophies.

It was announced that trophies were offered for the coming eeason by Messrs R. Allan, Andrews, W. W. Obisbolm, and Roth well.

Some discussion took place regarding the collection of subs , and it was left to the Management Committee to appoint two assistant Secretaries.

It was decided to open the season on Wednesday afternoon, 24th inst. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
