Sale of Thoroughbreds.
Auckland, January 3. The annual sale of yearlings bred by Mr Thomas Morrin, at Wellington Park, was held to-day. Among the Australian and Southern visitors were the Hon Hugh Mossman, M.L.C, New South Wales, Messrs A. Bligh, S. Hordern, juar, and M. Power, all from the same Colony ; Messrs Gollan and Lowry, Hawke's Bay ; MrD. O'Brien, Christchuroh; and Mr Goodson, Hawera. The highest lot sold was a brown colt by Castor — Frailty, 1575 guineas, and the next highest a brown colt by Castor — Necklace, 1050 guineas, both beiDg purohased by Mr S. Hordern, junr. The thirty lots offered realised 5253 guineas, an average of 175 guineas. Among tbe purohasers were the Hon H. Mossman and Mr T. Hook, New South Wales ; Mr Gooseman, Hawke's Bay, D. O'Brien, Christchuroh, and Mr Finerty, Waitara. Nearly a score of yearlings found purchasers in the Auckland district.
