London, January 2. 16 is offioially announor.d that the Duke and Duohess of York cannot visit Australis this year The Duke and Duohess of York, Prioea and Princess of Wales, the Queen, and the Government have oonsidered the invitafcioa < xtended by the Australasian Colonies to the Duke and Duohess of York. Though tha ai-solute terms of the decision havo not boen made known, it ia pretty oertain that the purport of the reply ' will be to oordially express gratification at the kindly feeling prompting the invita'aon, and regret that domestic reasons compel them to deoline this year. A hopa will be expressed that thera will be a more favourable chanoe of aooeptine the invitation later on.
