CUP CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The following are the names of the players who have been selected to engage in the Senior and Junior Cup matches, Nelson v. Albert, to be played in Trafalgar Park next Saturday afternoon :— Senior. Nelson: Sadd, Riley, Gully, Harper, Harkness, Shallcrass, Walker, Catley, Sigley, Batchelor, Denoker, Hamilton, Spiers, Fox, and Trolove ; emergency, Hamilton. Albert: Barltrop, Simpson, Nesbitt, Hall, J. Clift, Holford, Wainhouse, Barnett, Simmonds, Strawbridge, Lipscombe, H. Clear, Hargreaves, Scott, and Anstice ; emergencies, Mills and Bolton, JUNIOR. Nelson : Frazer, Wilson (2), Williams, Walker, Jones (2), Levien, Fernie, Clou3ton, Black, Edwards, Curtis, Dartnall, Gilbert, and Condell ; emergency, Lines. Albert : Allan, Martin, Levestam, J. Laird, Blanchett, Stallard, Mills, Jenner, Bolton, A. Laird, Johnston, Nalder (2), Low, Stewart, Ward, Burns, and Frank. Blenheim. The Unions defeated the St Andrews on Saturday last by 7 points to nil. O'Dwyer and Lipscombe (St Andrew) left the field during the game, apparently not being satisfied with the deoisions of the officials. Wellington. A match between the Melrose and Wellington Clubs resulted in a win for the latter by three points to one, after an exciting contest. Auckland. There was a large attendance to witness the first meeting of the Ponsonby and Gordon teams this season, which resulted in a win 1 for Ponsonby by five points to two. During the match two members of the winning Club were considerably hurt, A: Braund being rendered unconscious, and " Snowy" Hefferman wrenching his side. , The Grafton v. Auckland match was rather a hollow affair, the former winning by eleven j points to nothing. Thames. In the Senior match here, a team belong- ' ing to the Nelson Club defeated the Thames Club by nine points to nil.
