AUCKLAND RACES.

AUCKLAND, June 6. The Winter meeting of the Auckland Eacing Club was held to-day at Ellerslie, The weather was : very unfavorable, rain falling almost continually. The racing, however, was good. The following were the results :— Hurdles— Sentinel 1, Cloth of Gold 2, Criminal 3. Pour others started ; won easily by three lengths. A protest entered against Sentinel on the ground of crossing was dismissed. Dividends £4 ss. Maiden Steeplechase— Neck or Nothing 1, Justice 2, Dan 3. There were four, other starters, Justice led for about a mile and a half, when Neck or Nothing took the lead, and was never afterwards headed, winning by about two lengths. Welter Handicap— Orakei 1, Priscella 2, Ingorina 3 Eleven started ; won by a length and a half after a splendid race in the straight. Northern Steeplechase — Parnell 1, Bit of Blue 2, Neck or Nothing 3. The other starteis were Sentinel, Ingorangi, Nap, Yum Yum, Takapu, and Duadine. Takapu led over the first hurdle, but gave way at the top of the hill to Omata, who was first on to the flat, and had a four lengths lead at the sod wall, Takapu, Parnell, Neck pr Nothing, Yum Yum, and Ingorangi running in a group behind him. Parnell and Omata made the running until the latter was beaten threequarters of a mile from home, and yielded second place to Bit of Blue, but the latter could never reach Parnell, who won by ten lengths, Neck or Nothing being about twenty lengths behind Bit of Bluo. Dividends £18 15s 6d and .£l6 10s. Selling Steeplechase— Begorra 1, Jim 2, Justice 3. Six started ; dividends £7 13s 6d and £7 4g 6d. Ladies Bracelet— Priscella 1, Leorina 2, Ingorina 3. Twp others started ; won by two lengths. Dividends £4 16s and £3 19s 6d. •
