CONVERSAZIONE.
A coNVEBSAzioNR was held in the All Saints Schoolroom last « vening, and was very largely attended. The Eev F. W. Chatterton and Mrs Chatterton received those who attended, and the proceedings were then opened by a vocal quartette, in which Mr and Mrs Chatterton, vfrs Walker, and Mr King took part. The lev P. W. Chatterton then addressed those present, remarking that the gathering had been organised by the ladies of the congregation, one of the objects being that all the parishioners might meet Mrs Chatterton, who was anxious to become acquainted with them, and another object was that he might be enabled to talk with them Another end in view was that they might welcome back to Nelson Mr and Mrs Firth, <o whom they were indebted for their peal of bells, and he mentioned that while the sound of the beUs had been better brought out lately, Mr Firth had ( suggested some alterations to the tower that would lead to a further improvement In kindly terms, on behalf of the congregation, he gave a most hearty welcome to Mr and Mrs Firth. Eefr< shments were then handed round, when Mr Greenwood sang a song which was greatly appreciated, and Mr Holloway gave a humorous reading Mrs Walker and Miss Pratt sang a duett, the Bey F W Chatterton accompanying, and the latter gentleman having thanked all present for their attendance, the very pleasant gathering j was brought to a close by all joining in the National Anthem - Colonist, March 18.
