Yesterday Mr S, J. Beeves, the lfgal manager, received a telegram from the Owen, wbioh reads as follows :—• " I'he red, five feet thick, in dry &olid aountry, was cut at the eastern end of the block. It shows a strong northern strike. The underlie cannot ba deter mint d until driven on. The itona is gold be&ri<>g all through. The prospectors have struck good gold at a depth of 140 feet balow tbe sluicing lev.l, which beoame richer as they went down. At 150 feet they get prospeots of two onnoes to tfa« ton. The lead has b«en traced a conßideti--bla diatance, and olaimfl are now pegged ofl< from Dutwtan Crock 1 almost into the ClycU.l There is considerable excitement in the' locality. > -
