SCABBY SHEEP.
With reference to our remarks in Saturday's paper concerning, sheep driven in from Marlborough, which were found to be infected, we have received the following telegram from Blenheim :—" Re late outbreak of scab in the Nelson sale yards, I am informed that the flocks from which Archer's sheep were removed have undergone a careful examination, and that two local Sheep Inspectors have arrived at the conclusion that three out of the four flocks whence Archer obtained his sheep are perfectly free from infection, but owing to the fourth having recently been dipped and sufficient time not having yet elapsed, it is impossible to tell whether they are infected or not, consequently another inspection will have to be made during next week." In consequence of some of the infected sheep having got upon certain land in Happy Valley the whole of the sheep on the farms of Messrs J. Brown, S. Close, and 0. j Turner are now declared by Mr E. Or. Price, the Inspector, to be infected sheep.
