James's Act Union.—By an announcement in our advertising columnsit will be seerijthat this Art Union, which was to' have taken place this evening, has been postponed until the 26th instant, in consequence of the non-arrival of the return of tickets sold at | Blenheim, Weßtport, and other places. A few ticket* still remain unsold, and can : be had on .application at Mr. James's stores, Bridge-street. CONG-REG-ATIONAL CHUECH, HaBDY-STREET.—On Thursday evening a well-attended tea meeting was hejd in the above oh arch, to welcome to the pastorate thl Rev. John Beckenham. r After teva'congregational meeting was held, at which the Rev. Mr Beckenha)n, the Rev. Mr Parkins, Mr J. Mao Lean Dunn, and Mr B. Short took part. An appeal was mada to the meeting on account of the substitution of gas hi kerosine light, and heartily responded to, the anlount necessary for its introduction being collected th^n and there. We congratulate the rev. gentleman on the hearty welcome accorded him and Mrs Beckenham. He has a large sphere of usefulness before him, and we believe him to be the right man ia-the Eight place*
