ELECTION FOE SUBURBS.
To the Editor of the Colonitt.
Sib,—Ab an elector of the Suburban district, I attended at the Provincial Hall, yesterday, at the nomination of candidates, and was surprised to soft one of them proposed and seconded by the members of one family. If Mr. Elliott is the great publio man, and has done so much for us, as his proposer would have us believe, was it not possible for him to have obtained a more influential person to second him than Mr. Mackay, tertius, and one who had more stake in the Province. It appears to the publio, from what I can gather, that, Mr. Elliott chiefly relies for success at this election, upon the support of this one family, and those whom (hey oan in6uence. Can you inform ua, Sir, if there is any friend or relation to the family above-mentioned who would be likely to be benefited by Mr. Elliott's being returned to Parliament, and assisting in turning the present Government out of office.—l am, &c., s As Eiictob, Saturday, May 10th, 1873.
