LATEST AUSTRALIAN MARKETS.

Melbourne. —The Argus of August 10th, says:— "In breadstuff^ there is nothing whatever doing; holders refuse to quote under £14 for best brands of flour, and 6s. Id. to 6s. 3d. for best samples of wheat. Feeding grains evince firmness; 4s. Id. has been very freely offered for maize without leading to sales, but 1100 bags have changed hands at 4s. l*d., and small lets have been got rid of at 4s. 2d. A line of a 1000 bags of oats has been resold at 4s. 4d.; another parcel of 800 bags was takeu up at 4s. 3d. Pig iron is rising, Sales of medium qualities of hops are mentioned at Is. 2d. Sugars are firm. We learn that it has been decided on finally to send the Isabella with her entire cargo|to New Zealand. Teas do nofc attract much attention. Provisions are becoming scarce, and prices are advancing. For Sydney-made cheese lid. has been offered and refused ; holders csk Is. New Zealand cheese meets with a ready sale at lbd. Kerosene oil is steady. In liquids, we hear of the disposal of equal to 110 hhds., in hhds. and qr-casks, of Central Vmeyard3 brandy, pale and dark, at ss. 6d." Melbourne, August 17.—Beat flour, £14; wheat, 6s. 2d. to Os. 3d.; oats, 4s. 4d.; barley, 53. 3d.; mnize, scarce, ss. 3d.

Sydney.—The Herald of August 7th, reports. — "£l3 10s. to £14 is obtainable for Adelaide silkdressed flour, and £13 for Sydney mills. Adelaide wheat is not to be had below ss. 9d.; some holders ask 65.. A parcel of inferior South Australian waß quitted this week at ss. net. Cornsacks are a trifle firmer, while woolpai;ks are more depressed, and have beeu offered at 3s. 4d. for full weights. Dried fruits are without alteration. Groceries and oilmen's stores are dull of Bale ; quotations nominal. Liquors at about late rates. Teas and sugars are also unaltered."
