CLEARING- OF THE BAR,
ANOTHER VESSEL STRANDED
The topsail schooner Dancing Wave, Captain Buxton, arrived from the Hokitika on Sunday. She brings the gratifying iutelligeuce that, a fresh had taken place in the, river which had cleared the bar and made a fresh entrance, and it. was reported, when the vessel left on Friday, that there were twelve feet of water on the bar.
A number of the sailiug craft which had been outside so long had got, into port, but one, the thre«masted schooner Sir Francis Drake, belonging to Otago, grounded as she was entering, and was aground when the Dancing Wave left.
The cargo barge Edther also grounded and was lying on the bar.
The Dancing Wave had gone out of port to take in some cargo from the steamer Omeo, but a heavy gale springing up, the Omeo had to leave, and the schooner followed her example and came on to Nelson. The Wallaby goes to Hokitika to-day.
