AUCKLAND,
Vegetable Pbodtjcts of New Zealand. —A pumpkin weighing 90 lbs, and, measuring nearly 24 inches in diameter, was lately grown on the estate of Thos. Henry, Esq., of Euakaka, Wangarei. Baking Society in Auckland.—A baking society has been started in Auckland for that city and suburbs. The society was originated in consequence of the high price of bread in proportion to the price of flour. At the meeting for organising the society it was resolved that a baking company should be formed under the Joint Stock Companies' Act, the capital to consist of 200 shares of £1 each (no one to hold more than 10 shares) ; the enrolment of members to be commenced at once, and 2s. 6d. to be paid down by each upon enrolment. Several members were enrolled, and a preliminary committee appointed to draw up rules, &c.
