UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD ELECTION OF OFFICERS The fourth general meeting of the Te Awamutu-United Football Club was held on the 18th of this month. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted in Mr N. Middlebrook being elected patron, Mr R.P. Mandeno president, Messrs R. S. Sinclair, T. Cucksey, W. Tombs, G. Carter, A. E. Bryant and C. H. Cox vicepresidents; G. D. Shepherd secretary, and L. Arnold treasurer.
Mr A. J. Carseldine was elected Club captain. The president, secretary, treasurer and Messrs J. Calder, K. Tippett , J. Kay, J. Bryant, G. Taylor, P. Rooney, C. Bryant and N. Boyes will be the management committee. Auditor for the club’s balance sheets will be Mr J. E. Hammond. The coaches are Messrs W. F. Daniell, C. Lee, J. H. Calder, J. Dalton, A. Bryant, C. Price and A. Johnston. Messrs R. Mandeno, K. Tippett, J. Kay, A. J. Carseldine, J. Calder and C. Lee were elected delegates to the annual meeting of the Rugby Union. Mr J. H. Calder was appointed a delegate to the Rugby Union committee.
It was decided to call the first practice two clear Saturdays before the commencement of the season’s play. Wednesday was given as first choice and Thursday as second choice for club practice nights during the season.
New members to the club are Messrs J. Hooper, D. Bradley, F. Tarrant, C. Heta, J. Emery, C. Livingstone, C. Rodgers, T. Emery, 0- Norgrave, L. Carpenter, W. Barnett, C. Sutton and A. Jamieson.
Any decisions dealing with Finlay Cup matches were left in the hands of the club’s Management Committee.
