Te Awamutu: Population as at March 31, 1948, 3300; rateable capital value as at March 31, 1947, £1,144,575; Insurance companies premium income to December 31, 1947, £5601; number of fire calls, 31; fires involving loss of property, 5; insurances on property involved fires, £9155; insured fire loss, buildings and contents, £65; uninsured fire loss, buildings and contents, £320; total fire loss £385. Authorised expenditure for year ending March 31, 1949, £732. For comparative purposes, the figures for Cambridge and Levin are given. Cambridge: Population 2760; rateable capital value, £813,605; insurance companies premium income £4602; number of fire calls, 8; fires involving loss of property, 2; insurances on properties involved in fires, £5371; insured fire loss, nil; uninsured fire loss, £7O; total fire loss, nil; authorised expenditure, £1125. Levin: Population, 3660; rateable capital value, £1,428,380; insurance companies premium income, £6,854; number of fire calls, 9; fires involving loss of property, 1; insurance on property involved in fires, nil; insured fire loss, nil; uninsured fire loss, nil; total fire loss, nil; authorised expenditure, £220.
