TE AWAMUTU COLLEGE
PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION IMPORTANT NOTICES OF MOTION As advertised in this issue the annual meeting of the Te Awamutu College Parent-Teacher Association will be held next month. Among the most important business that will be placed before the meeting will be the consideration of the following notices of motion:— That this meeting of parents, while realising with satisfaction the rapid and increasing growth of the College roll during the last three years, views with concern and indignation the failure of the Education Board and the Education Department to provide any additional accommodation and additional equipment to meet the needs of these increasing numbers- It urges the executive of the association and the Committee of Management to take the necessary steps to establish a Board of Governors to control the College in order that the needs of the College may be presented directly to the Education Department without the intervention of a third body.
Amendment to the Constitution: That, in order that the continuity of the work of the committee be preserved, one third of the elected members of the committee retire each year in rotation, such members to be eligible for re-election. This amendment is to take effect forthwith. Selection of the retiring members this year to be arranged bv ballot. Alteration or addition to the rules shall be made at any general meeting. Notice of motion must be given at least a fortnight before the general meeting; and the motion shall be included in the notice calling the general meeting.
