JERSEYS IN BRISK DEMAND BUYERS PAY TO 460 GUINEAS With a top price of 460 guineas and an average of 92 guineas for the 69 bulls sold, the first day of the 24th National Jersey* Bull Sale at Claudelanas was the best for a number of years. The total realisation was 6350 guineas, 16 bulls selling above 100 guineas, six above 200 guineas and three above 300 guineas. The fixture was continued yesterday and the National Ayrshire Show and Sale is being held to-.day. The sale improved as it progressed and there vias no slackening in competition from, the record bench of buyers during the late afternoon sales. No difficulty was experienced in obtaining figures in excess of 100 guineas for the star lots of the catalogue, other attractive consignments making from 80 to 95 guineas and other entries bringing from 50 to 70 guineas. The best individual average of the day was one of 310 guineas for three bulls from the Estate of the late Mr Truby King. .Prices of over 70 guineas were realised in the following sales affecting this district:—Summit Field Marshall, 16/10/44 (Mr H. R. Clarke, Te Awamutu), to D. Kitchen, Kaitaia, 90 guineas. Beaulieu Brown Owl, 10/9/45, (Dr. G. Walker, Whangarei), to C. McDonald, Te Awamutu, 70 guineas. Windemere Beau Peter, 22/6/44, (V. McD. Hitchings, Otorohanga), to P. Deane, Paeroa, 70 guineas. Hampton Airman, 21/9/44, (A. M. Bell, Otorohanga), to F. J. Bryan, Waipa, 75 guineas. Mamakura Lass’ Hope, 20/9/45, (K. LAnson. Tauranga), to A. W. Clements, Pokuru, 70 guineas. Shelf ord Pal’s Aspitant, 23/10/44, (A. G. Melrose, Walton), to F. W. Turney, Ohaupo, 70 guineas.
