Miss Lister, treasurer of International Attractions, was a visitor to Te Awamutu yesterday and stayed at the Commercial Hotel.

’Mr Gladstone Hill, manager of International Attractions, accompanied Jan Rlubini- and Vassili Uster to Te Awamutu yesterday and was a guest at the Commercial Hotel.

During their stay in Te Awamutu Mr Jan Rubini, the eminent violinist, and his accompanist Mr Vassili Uster were guests at the Commercial Hotel.

Mrs M. Henderson of Te Awamjutu and Mr F. Price, of Te Mawhai, are in Wellington attending the Labour Party Conference, as representatives of the local branch.

Mr W. G.„Goosman, M.P., and Mrs Goosman were visitors to Te Awamutu yesterday. They will leave for Wellington to-morrow night to attend the National Party conference.

Mr and Mrs W. R. Henderson, of Te Awamutu, anounce the engagement of their eldest daughter, Elizabeth Rae, to, Edmond P. Malone, second son of’Mr and Mrs Brian Malone, Te Awamutu.

The engagement is announced between Mervyn Stirling, eldest son of Mr C. W. Cook, Wharepapa South, and the late Mrs Cook, and Iris Patricia (Pat) Mclnnes. only daughter of Mr and Mrs L. W. Poolman, Arapuni Road, Putaruru.
