Heavy Rains

Mr R. Allen reports that yesterday 1.8 inches of rain fell. Monday’s rainfall was 1.5 inches, while on Sunday night the recorded fall was .47 inches. Yesterday’s downpour resulted in all low-lying portions of town and district being flooded, but as usual in this district, the water quickly subsided. Albert Park was under water, while at the Kihikihi Road bowser area the Waters swirled with torrential force. Earth footpaths suffered damage, while the concrete paths were covered with mud. Enquiries made, however, reveal that no serious damage resulted in borough or county.
