ALEXANDRA RACING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The old club held its 78th annual meeting in the Public Library on Monday, when there was a record attendance presided over by the president, Mr J. L. Macky, Snr. A feature was the number of young men present, some of whose parents have had a long association with the club. The secretary produced a very satisfactory balance sheet, the best one shown for some years. The programme was dis(cussed and some of the lower stakes were raised to attract the better-class of horses. The Pirongia Hurdles were altered to include registered hunters. After the meeting a few of the older members stayed behind and the harking back over the years would have deHghted thd heart of Nat Gould.
