Flight-Lieutenant (acting-Squadron Leader) F. B. McWhannell, M.C., has been promoted to the rank of squadron leader (temporary) in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, administrative and special duties branch. Squadron Leader McWhannell is well known in the Waikato.
