VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE
INSPECTION BY PARENTS INSPECTION BY PARENITS As was stated at the annual meeting of the Parents-Teachers’ Association on Thursday the vocational guidance cards are to be made available for inspection by parents. At the request of those present at the Te Awamutu meeting the following report of meetings in Wellington is published: As expected, considerable interest was shown in the biennial elections of primary school committees in the Wellington Education Board’s district Householders discussed a wide range of subjects, notably the educational and vocational guidance cards, there being criticism at some meetings of their confidential nature and also appreciative reference to their value. It was revealed that the vocational guidance cards would in future be made available to parents for inspection. The object of the cards is to compile information which may be used in guiding the child and the parent on the question of the child’s future education and choice of a vocation. The details have been made confidential to the Vocational Guidance Centre and will remain so in the future, but the cards may be inspected by parents.
