RAINFALL
FIGURES FOR MARCH Mr W. Jeffery advices that the rainfall in Te Awamutu for the past quarter was as follows: January 2.34 inches, against 3.23 inches for Jam uary, 1942; February this year 2.60 inches (February, 1942, 1.06 inches); March this year, 1.34 (March, 1942, 1.13 inches). The driest March on record was in 1938, when no rain was registered. Although heavy rain has fallen in Auckland, very little fell in Te Awamutu last night, the recording up to 9 o’clock this morning being .10 inches. 1 X < M
