PRESENTATION

CHURCH WORKER HONOURED

Miss C. McConkey was the guest of honour at a pleasing function in the Bryant Memorial Hall, last evening when she was the recipient of hearty good wishes on the eve of her marriage. The Rev. H. Spencer paid a warm tribute to her work for the Church and to her personal qualities, and Mr Ken Lewis, on behalf of the choir, of which Miss McConkey has been a member for 25 years, endorsed Mr Spencer’s remarks. The presentation of a bedside lamp was made by Mrs Poolman, a senior member of the choir. On behalf of the congregation, Mr J. T. Johnson presented Miss McConkey with a beautiful firescreen, and in doing so Mr Johnson referred to the family’s long and faithful association with the Church.

Mr Hamilton Allen feelingly thanked the choir and congregation for their gifts and kind wishes extended to his fiance.
