TRINITY COLLEGE EXAMS. LOCAL CANDIDATES The practical examinations in music and elocution conducted under the auspices of Trinity College of Music, London, by visiting examiners during the past two weeks have concluded. Junior pianoforte.—Merit: Joan Moxham; pass, Michael Mulcahy. Advanced preparatory pianoforte.— Merit: Patricia Magill; pass, Kevin O. O’Connor and Patrick Rooney. Preparatory pianoforte. Merit: Mary Macky; pass, Josephine Fitzpatrick and Doreen Rose. First steps, pianoforte.—Pass: Margaret Edmonds. Initial pianoforte. Pass, Noeline Flutey. The following pupils of Miss C. Wellington were successful:— Intermediate pianoforte. Janet Berry (Pokuru), and Noeline Perrott (Te Mawhai). Junior, theory: Yolande M. Pryor, honours (Te Awamutu). Associate pianoforte: Diana Wall (examiner, Anderson Tyrer). The following pupils of Mrs Jean Trubshoe passed the junior pianofortewith merit: Ngaire Johnson and Joyce Cullen. A supplementary practical examination is to be held in November. It is regretted that the impossibility of procuring the usual medals will prevent any awards being made by the centre again this year.
