ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING ORGANISATION PROPOSALS A public meeting of the Kihikihi branch of the Emergency Precautions Service Organisation was held in the Town Hall there on Monday night, when Mr J. G. Sutherland presided over an attendance of forty persons, who evinced great interest in the proceedings and expressed a desire to assist in every possible manner. The clerk to the Kihikihi Town Board advised that that body had made a grant to the Organisation 9f £5. The meeting passed a vote of ’ hanks to the Board, and also desired co convey its thanks for the free use of the Town Hall. PERSONNEL AND EXECUTIVE The chairman announced that, with the enrolment of those present, approximately 40 persons would constitute the E.P.S. in Kihikihi, so that there would be sufficient personnel for all the committees required. Leaders for the various committees would be selected when all the names were available. The following Executive was appointed: Messrs J. G- Sutherland (chairman), G. Donaldson (secretary), Hamilton Allen (representing the Waipa County Council), and A. Maunder (Kihikihi Town Board); Constable H. Shaw and Messrs H. Jowsey and J. S. Pattison as liaison officers with the Home Guard. LADIES’ COMMITTEE The Ladies’ Committee was appointed as follows: Evacuation and Accommodation: Mrs P. Helwig. Medical and Nursing: Mrs R. ,P. Robinson. Transport Location: Mr J. A. Marquis. Women’s Division: Mrs J. S. Pattison. CONTROLLERS AND COMMITTEES The following were appointed to the Committees named:— Accommodation and Evacuation: Mr G. Donaldson (Controller), Mesdames P. Helwig and L. Eyre (Deputies), Mrs J. S. Pattison. Recording and Reception: Rev. T. G. Shilton (Controller), Mesdames A. Maunder and J. G. Wynyard, and Miss Hill. Transport Location: Mr J. A. Marquis (Controller), Mesdames J. Cran and Haines, and Miss M. Eyre. Transport Evacuation: Messrs J. G. Sutherland (Controller), G. Donaldson, J. A. Fraser, R. Cliff, Hamilton Allen, A. Maunder, H. Jowsey, and TG. Shilton. Messengers: Clyde Sutherland (Horse), Neil Alcock, H. Helwig, W. Glassey, and H. Littlewood (Cycle). Publicity and Records: Mr R. gateTiki Road and Country Patrols: Messrs G. R.
