Mrs Leo Long, of Hairini, has returned home after a pleasant stay in Auckland. Mr and Mrs E. Prince, of Wanganui, accompanied by Mrs A. King, of Kaponga, were visitors to Te Awamutu last week-end as the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Prince, College Street. The friends of Mrs Garth Williamson, of Mahoe Stret, will be pleased to know 1 that she has left “ Cassel ” private hospital after a successful operation and is staying with her mother, Mrs Vagg, of Hamilton. Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., who has been visiting the West Coast glaciers, returned to Wellington at the weekend. Mr Broadfoot will leave to-mor-row to make a visit to the National Party branches in Canterbury. PIRONGIA PERSONALS. (Own Correspondent.) Mr and Mrs Palmer, of St. Stephen’s Avenue, Auckland, are spending an extended holiday with Mrs Jack Robinson, Kawhia Road. Mr Robinson and Mr Palmer are continuing on to Kawhia where they will enjoy several days’ shooting. Mr and Mrs J. Williams, of Papakura, have returned home after several days with Mrs C. Berry, Franklin Street.

Mr Robert Robinson, of “Upland Downs,” left early this week for an extended holiday at Auckland. Friend will be pleased to hear that Mrs Syd. Waite (Crozier Street), has recovered after several days’ illness. Mrs Warner, of Gisborne, is spending a holiday with Mr and Mrs Claude Parr.

Mrs Carnachan Snr. is the guest of Mrs B. Carnachan, Crozier Street. Messrs Russell and Ernie Taylor are away touring the North Island. Mrs Jack Foster, Franklin Street, is away on an extended holiday. In the final of the bowling competition last Saturday, Mr Jack Buchanan beat Mr Fergus White in the singles for the Chappell Memorial Shield and the doubles was won by Mr White and Mr Buchanan. Mr and Mrs W. McFarland, of Ngahinepouri, have returned home after being the guests of Mr and Mrs H. Miller, of Mountain Road.

Mrs A. S. Beatson has returned home after spending an enjoyable holiday with her daugher, Mrs Summers, of National Park. At the Anglican Church meeting held recently, Mr Thomas Steel was once again elected Minister’s Warden. Mr Steel was first elected Minister’s Warden in 1907 (34 years ago), and has been warden ever since. Mr Lin. Prentice, of Auckland, arrives this week and will spend an extended holiday with Mrs Moeller, Crozier Street.

Friends will be pleased to hear that Private Thomas Bardsley is still slowly improving. Last Wednesday a special Home Guard parade was held at Matakitaki Park, Pirongia. Members of Paterangi, Mangapiko, Ngahinepouri and Pirongia companies paraded and the drill and field manoeuvres were very efficient. The ladies provided a dainty afternoon tea which was much appreciated by the men. An enjoyable card evening was held at Mrs R. Martin’s residence last Thursday. The winners of the evening were Miss Marshell and Mr O. Walker. Mrs Martin served a dainty supper.

Mrs T. Knight, of Belchy Street, left last Thursday to attend Miss Annie Knight’s wedding at Te Kuiti. Mrs J. H. Smith, of Hamilton, is the guest of Mrs Hickie, of Mountain Road.

After spending several' days \yith Mr and Mrs A. Park, Mr and Mrs Johnson, of Morrinsville, have returned home.

Friends will be pleased to hear that Mr Harry West, who has just had a serious operation, is now recovering slowly.
