BASKETBALL
ANNUAL MEETING OF WAIPA ASSOCIATION. The annual general meeting of the above association was held at the courts on Saturday, there being a promising attendance. The election of officers insulted: Patron, W. G. Park, Esq.; president, Mr Venables; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. G. Adams, E. H. Cucksey, A. B. Allen, Mesdames C. R. Sherley, J. G. Kirkham, R. J. Shaw; secretary, Miss M. Pascoe; treasurer, Miss B. Armstrong; auditor, Mr L. Johnson. There are to be two delegates from each club. The social committee to consist of four from each club. The appointment of selectors was deferred until next meeting when prospectives will have been approached. The draw for 1941. season is as follows: May 10th:—Paterangi v. Owairaka; Old Girls A v. Cross Roads; Old Girls B v. High School A; Athletic v. High School C; Hairini v. High School B. May 17th-: —School A v. Paterangi; Old Girls A v. Owairaka; Old Girls B v. Athletic; Cross Roads v. Hairini; School B v. School C. May 24th:—Old Girls B v. Paterangi; Old Girls A v. School A; Cross Roads v. School C; Athletic v. School B; Owairaka v. Hairini. May 31st:Athletic v. Paterangi; Old Girls A v. Old Girls B; Cross Roads v. School B; Hairini v. School A; School C v. Owairaka. June 7th:—Paterangi v. Old Girls A; Old Girls B v. School B; Cross Roads v. Owairaka; Athletic v. School A; School C v. Hairini. June 14th:—Paterangi v. Hairini; Old Girls A v. Athletic; Old Girls B v. Cross Roads; School A v. School C; Owairaka v. School B. June 21st:—Owairaka v. Athletic; Old Girls B v. School C; School B v. School A; Old Girls A v. Hairini; Cross Roads v. Paterangi. June 28th: School C v. Paterangi; Old Girls A v. School A. HAIRINI CLUB. The annual meeting of the Hairini Basketball Club was held on the 29th April and the following officers were elected: Captain, M. Pascoe; vice-cap-tain G. Crook; secretary and treasurer, B. Gee.
