WAIPA UNION OPENS SEASON. MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Waipa Rugby Union on Monday was attended by Messrs W. H. Parish, T. Bowden, A. H. Richards, J. L. Callaghan, A. Betts, R. Guy, R. Clarke Thompson, W. Tombs, W. G. S. Smith and H. T. Haselden (secretary). Mr W. H. Parish was elected chairman for the ensuing year. He welcomed new members to the committee and expressed the hope that the same cordial relations that had existed in. the past would continue in the future. Specially he welcomed two vicepresidents, Mesrs Guy and Betts. The Pirongia Club wrote regarding ground fees and the circumstances were discussed, consideration eventually being deferred for a month. An application from the Te Kopua Native School for the use of a football was granted. Several matters in connection with the grounds arrangements were discussed and the senior’s draw proceeded as follows: May 10: Pirates v. Stars at Te Awamutu; Waikeria v. Pirongia at Te Awamutu; Owairaka a bye. May 17: Pjrates v. Waikeria at Te Awamutu; Pirongia v. Owairaka at Te Awamutu; Stars a bye. May 24: Pirates v. Owairaka at Te Awamutu; Stars v. Waikeria at Te Awamutu; Pirongia a bye. May 31: Pirates v. Pirongia at Pirongia; Stars v. Owairaka at To Awamutu; Waikeria a bye. June 9: Stars v. Pirongia; Waikeria v. Owairaka; Pirates a bye. It was decided that the Management Committee meet every Monday evening during the season. Messrs J. L. Callaghan and T. Bowden were appointed ground stewards on collection days. Mr Callaghan reported having attended a meeting of the parent union and gave an outline of the deliberations and discussions of that meeting. REFEREES FOR SATURDAY. Seniors: Pirates v. Stars, Mr I. F. Vickers; Waikeria v. Pirongia, Mr C. Sergeant. Thirds: Pirongia v. Ohaupo, Mr Clark; Te Awamutu v. High School, Mr I. Roberts; Old Boys v. Rovers, Mr J. Wilson. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY. Stars football team for Saturday will be picked at the grounds from the following players:— Waretini, Macky, Mandeno, Douglas, Russel, McVerry, Hodgson, McLeay, Fraser, Jowsey, Whitehead, Cavanagh, F.
