HAMILTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton yards on Tuesday as follows: — Sheep: The yarding this week was on a par with last week’s entry, and competition was keen throughout, values advancing on last week’s quotations both for wethers and ewes. Heavy prime fat wethers made 43s to 465, medium fat wethers 37s 6d to 40s 6d; light ditto 33s 9d to 36s 3d, prime young fat ewes 34s 9d to 365, heavy fat ewes 30s to 32s 3d, other ewes 21s to 255, medium fat hoggets 24s to 265, light store hoggets to 17s, ewes with lambs given in 30s. Fat cattle: There was a medium entry of all classes, which again met a very keen market. Boners sold at firm rates. Store cattle: The advertised line of store cattle proved to be in good order and condition, and met with very ready sale. A large attendance of buyers operated very freely, and values were in advance of late ruling rates at all centres. Good 2 J-year Polled Angus steers made £8 Bs, Hereford-cross steers £8 Is, 2-year Polled Angus steers £7 Bs, 2year Shorthorn steers £5 12s 6d, 15month Polled Angus steers £5 7s, small yearling Polled steers £3 5s to £3 19s,' small Polled Angus heifers £2 19s to £3 6s, empty yearling Jersey heifers (extra good) to £6 14s, medium-quality 2-year Jersey heifers £4 5s to £4 7s 6d, smaller yearling Jersey heifers £4 2s to £5. Pigs: A medium yarding of fats and a full entry of stores sold firm at late rates. No top-weight baconers were penned. Medium baconers made £3 10s to £4, butter-milk pigs to light baconers £2 17s to £3 Bs, heavy porkers £2 15s to £3, medium £2 8s to £2 15s, light £1 10s to £2 ss, large stores £2 5s to £2 14s, medium £2 to £2 ss, small £1 15s to £2, best slips £1 6s to £1 12s, best weaners £1 8s to £1 15s, others £1 to £1 6s, maiden sows to farrow £4 to £6, older sows £2 to £4 10s, choppers £2 18s to £4 Is.
