SCHOOL COMMITTEES

ELECTIONS IN OTOROHANGA DISTRICT. The results of the largely attended poll for nine members of the Otorohanga D.H. (consolidated) school, resulted as follows, sitting members returned being shown by an asterisk:— :: C. M. Staite, M. Pratt, *W. C. Williamson, *R. Morrison,) *R. DymoreBrowne, J. S. Hewlett, G. T. Disher, B. McKenzie (chairman), T. R. Lear and *A. J. W. Annan. Four members of the sitting committee, Mrs H. M. Quin (20 years’ service), Mr W. I. Bowver (chairman for many years), Dr R. C. Bennington and Mi’ C. Goddard, did not seek re-election. Before the election, the chairman, Mr W. I. Bowyer paid tribute to Mrs H. M. Quin for her long service in the cause of education. On the motion of Mr Staite, it was unanimously decided that the expressions of appreciation of her sterling services be written her.—Acclamation followed. HONIKIWI SCHOOL. The election resulted as follows:W. Kohi (chairman), F. Innes (secretary), R. Harty, W. Carlin and W. H. McKenzie. OTEWA SCHOOL. There were seven nominations for five seats, but to save an election, Messrs H. Schultz and S. Rankin withdrew, and the following were elected:—*H. J. Shanks (chairman), *Mrs Croton (secretary and treasurer), *J. Sutherland, Geo. Emery, and Lionel Hewer. TE KAWA SCHOOL. The election resulted as follows: T. F. Plewman (chairman), G. Thompson (secretary), W. E. Thompson, C. J. Hegh and I. Shaw.
