TE AWAMUTU AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB. The first contest between Te Awariiutu and Hamilton amateur athletic (cycling) teams, for the trophy donated by Mr W. G. Adams, president of the Te Awamutu Club, eventuated last Saturday afternoon at Albert Park. Conditions were by no means ideal, for light rain showers occurred, but some good riding resulted. Te Awamutu secured a convincing win, for in the half-mile dash Jones (Hamilton) was first, J. A. Robertson second and Irwin and V. Veen dead- ' heated for third. In the mile event" all places were filled by Te Awamutu riders, J. Dalziel being first, J. A. Robertson second and B. Irwin third. Te. Awamutu also filled all the places in the three mile event, Robertson being first, Veen second and Irwin third. Thus Hamilton’s only points were gained by Jones in the half mile race.
