THE TAHAROA MYSTERY

POLICE INVESTIGATIONS. The police search in connection with the mysterious disappearance of Delu Desai, the Indian storekeeper from Taharoa, continues. Detective Sergeant J. Thompson, of Hamilton, arrived at Taharoa yesterday with two powerful outboard motors, lengths of heavy chain and some stout hooks. These have been assembled and at daybreak to-day the two boats commenced sweeping areas of Lake Taharoa. Meanwhile the sanddunes are being probed with spears. Early in the police investigations clothes belonging to the missing man were found buried in the sandhills and this is one of the reasons why the police believe that the missing man never left Taharoa.
