WEDDING BELLS

OF LOCAL INTEREST. BRADSHAW-NORTH. A wedding of Te Awamutu and district interest was solemnised in St John’s Church, on Saturday last, between Mary Helen (Mollie), only daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles North, Ohaupo Road, and Eric Victor, second son of Mr and Mrs J. Bradshaw, of Paeroa. The church was decorated with chrysanthemums, hydrangeas, and autumn leaves. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a gorwn of ivory embossed chenille georgette cut on simple lines. The bodice was smocked at the shoulders and the neckline finished with a Peter Pan satin collar and spray of orange blossom. A plaited girdle and spray of orange blossom was worn at the waist. Her beautifully embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a halo coronet and fell sottly to form a second train over her slim fitting skirt which finished with an oval train. She carried a lovely sheaf of lilies and pale pink bouvardias and asparagus tern. Miss Betty Bygrave (cousin of the bride) was in attendance as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of cornflower blue redingote stiffened lace, over a taffeta slip of the same shade, cut on Empire lines, a Peter Pan collar and tiny diamante buttons from the neckline to the waist, which was finished with a diamante buckle, conipletad the frock. A coronet of blue flowers and silver leaves was worn from which fell a shoulder length veil of blue net. She carried a sheaf o( hydrangeas, pink bouvardias and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Leo Bradshaw. Rev. M. Sullivan performed the ceremony and Miss P. North (cousin of the bride), presided at the organ. A reception was held at the Regent Lounge, where the tables were decorated with pink and blue flowers. The guests were received by Mrs North, assisted by Mjrs Bradshaw, the bridegroom’s mother. Mrs .North wore a winecoloured frock of wool crepe-de-chine trimmed with black astrachan and a velour hat to tone. Her posy was in autumn shades. Mrs J. Bradshaw was wearing a black bengaline frock with white vest and black hat with white trimming. She carried a posy of red roses and autumn tinted foliage. When Mr and Mrs Eric Bradshaw left by car for a tour of the South Island, the bride, travelled in black pique romaine frock, trimmed with silver lame, black velour halo hat, and coat of mole coloured fur fabric, with black accessories. They will make their future home at Tahuna, Morrinsville district. The guests present included:—Mrs J. Bradshaw, Mr and Mrs H. Paul, Mrs J. Paul, Miss D. Paul, Miss Williams, Mr and Mirs Nicholson, Mr and Mrs J. Crosbie, Mr C. Crosbie and Mrs L. Crosbie (all of Paeroa). Mrs A. White, Mrs W. A wedding of wide district interest was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Otorohanga, on Tuesday last, the Rev. H. W. Payne being the officiating clergyman. The contracting parties were Gwendoline May, only daughter of Mr and Mrs James Thomas, early settlers of the Paewhenua district, and Albert Charles, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. J. East, now of Morrinsville, and formerly resident at Otorohanga for many years. Mrs J. Hotson provided the wedding music, the Church being filled with relatives and friends of the principals. The bride entered the Church upon the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. She wore a very dainty frock of shell pink lace over satin, cut on classical and slimfitting lines, the skirt being slightly trained. Her veil of pale pink tulle was caught with a head-dress of orange blossom, and she carried a beautiful bouquet of roses and maidenhair fern. Miss Marjorie Dean, of Paewhenua, and Miss Molly Morgan, of Woodville, functioned as bridesmaids. They were dressed alike in picture frocks of pale green net over satin, and wore circlets of velvet flowers. Both carried corresponding posies of seasonal blooms. Mr Cliff Thomas, brother of the bride, was best man, and Mr Jack McDowell, groomsman. At the largelyattended reception after the ceremony, Mrs J. Thomas received the guests in a smart brown costume, while the mother of the bridegroom (Mrs A. J. East) was costumed in navy blue with accessories in perfect harmony. Both carried beautiful bouquets of seasonal flowers. The bride travelled in a smart brown costume with furs and accessories to tone. After a comprehensive honeymoon by motor and rail, Mr and Mrs East will settle on the land in the Northern King Country.
