OBITUARY
MRS MARY GLASGOW. Very many Te Awamutu friends will learn with regret of the death, which occurred at Auckland yesterday of Mrs Mary Glasgow, who had been in failing health for some time. Mrs Glasgow, who was 72 years of age. came to Te Awamutu from the Forty Mile Bush district about fifteen years ago with her family, and soon made friends here. She was a woman of a kindly disposition, and performed countless deeds of kindness —in fact, whenever there was grief or trouble in a. household it became almost an axiom that Mrs Glasgow would be assisting to relieve the distress. An old friend termed her “one of Nature’s gentlewomen,” and the term was appropriate. Hence it can be realised that her passing will be universally regretted. A staunch member of the Roman Catholic Church, Mrs Glasgow always worked hard for the advancement of the Church. She is survived by a son, Mr W. Glasgow, of the Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Co.’s staff, and three daughters, Mrs. .Peacocks, Raetihi, Mrs. Eugene McCabe, Whangarei, and Miss Eileen Glasgow, of Auckland. The funeral takes place to - morrow, interment being at Te Awamutu Cemetery, after a Requiem Mass has been celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church.
